I have an aspire v 15. My old laptop did things differently so this is now a habbit, to wake my computer from sleep or hibernation I would simply open the lid and it logs me in. On my aspire if I am in sleep I open the lid and nothing will happen until I press the power button. I have not found anyone asking the same question and I have not been able to find a setting that will let me change this. Is there a way to simply open the lid to wake the laptop without having to press the power button?

    crk909,

Only certain models of notebooks have that functionality. The ones that do, there is not way to disable it, the ones that do not, there is no way to enable that sort of feature.

You could post your thoughts about this sort of functionality in our Ideas section to have more models with this feature.
