You can download the latest BIOS for your product at http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers. In regards to booting from an add in card, I don't have instructions for doing that. You may try checking with the manufacturer of the add in card, to see what their recommendation is.

click on BIOS tab to check about BIOS updates.

about add on card, i doubt it will be able to boot from it.

Hi,it is not usually BIOS detects any add on connected to PC which then has to be configued in the BIOS?that is the add on card will override the build in BIOS for the SATA controller so PC can boot from the add on card?

if you mean pci-express to sata card, it depends on PC BIOS, some can recognise it, some not....you can only know testing it.

Yes I mean PCI Express to SATA card AS this model has one PCIe x1 and one PCIe X16 this is for graphic card and the x1 for other cards like USB 3 or SATA,am I right?

BIOS when usually detects any add on card or device it will shows this in the BIOS setup as new changes which then can be configured to be used, example if you install graphic card you need to connect it to the monitor and disable the onboard graphic card,I am not sure if Acer Technical Support have details about this as their information is fairly limited.

Can the BIOS be damaged by Virus and how to find out?
