'No Bootable device-insert boot disk and press any key'
I have an Acer ASPIRE One laptop.Off late I have I have been getting the error 'No bootable device-insert boot disk and press any key' on starting my laptop.Can you please suggest what could be the issue and how to resolve it ?

please enter BIOS at boot pressing F2 at check if HDD is listed under SATA devices.

I did check in BIOS . The Hard Disk details are visible in BIOS .I even tried and changed the Boot priority but that didn't help either .
The exact message displayed is
Check Cable connection
Exiting PXE-ROM
No Bootable device-insert boot disk and press any key
I removed and reinserted the Hard Disk cable to the mother board but that didn't work either .Not sure where the connection problem is .

yes, that message appear when a bootable device is missing and it's trying to boot from the ethernet adapter.
have you tried to press Alt+F10 at boot to enter Acer erecovery?
which windows version is installed?

What would Alt+F10 do ? and how would it fix the issue ?

Alt+f10, if the HDD works, will start Acer recovery.
This is needed to check if HDD is still in good shape.I'm not an Acer employee.1
