My laptop is an Aspire E5-511P, I am running the windows 10 operating system.  I went to the Acer quick access menu and found an option: Optimized Display Scaling:  You can automatically change the display scaling to Acer's recommended setting to make your screen easier to read.: OFF; I turned the option on and then the computer restarted and the new settings were displayed which I did not like.  So I went to turn it off again and found that the Display Scaling option had left the menu so I could not turn off the Acer's recommened settings.

    corth_d,

Thank you for the information. I turned on one of our VN7-791G notebooks that has that feature and went through the steps of enabling it, restarting, and seeing if it was still there; it was. Here are a couple solutions you can try:

    1. Uninstall and reinstall Acer Quick Access, here is the application download link from our support site.
    2. That feature in Acer Quick Access is just a shortcut to the actual Windows feature that does it. You can go and manually adjust the scaling settings (Control Panel -> Display) if needed.
    3. You can perform a system restore to before the change and see if the feature comes back to the Acer Quick Access options.

I have uninstalled quick access and reinstalled it only for the new install to give me only ONE option to change the screen for sunlight. It removed every single other option that was available. I have removed it, reinstalled the windows 8 version, and was given nothing different. I would really prefer not to do a complete reset of my computer, but unfortunately a system restore is not an option either, as I have never set a restore point. To be of further assistance, I am on a Aspire E15, model E5-521. As far as giving any other kinds of information, you'l have to be very specific as to what you would like in regards to my model. I am not all too tech saavy. Thank you for your help with this dreadful option! My curiosity has gotten the best of me yet again...

Justin,  I have performed a system restore to before the change to see if the feature comes back to the Acer Quick Access options and it did not.  Now the Acer bios will not load when I preform a restart on my computer.  The Acer menu freezes and the fan kicks into high gear.
