I have the Aspire XC-703.  Had it since last December.

I use the bluetooth everyday but weirdly it has completley gone.  Tried to reinstal drivers but it doesn't appear in device manager or on taskbar icons.  Any ideas?

rigth click the USB BT module and see if you can uninstall it, also the USB with yellow exclamation mark.

having a dead BT USB and that USB error, i suspect the BT module is having some hardware issue.

you can try to unplug the BT module and then reseat and check if it was only a bad connection but if it still not work...i don't have other suggestions apart buying a new wifi/BT module

Rather, the individual elements are greyed out.  The parent is bold.

    USB\DEVICE_DESCRIPTOR_FAILURE

I did have a USB stick that I was trying to use but it wouldn't work so I took it out.  The other USB devices connected are keyboard, mouse and printer.  All of which are working

    Hi Splatmud,
I have a very similar problem with my Acer Aspire E5-575G-54TU.
Could you please tell me how you solved your problem in the end?
    Many thanks!

With the help of Acer Support I managed to solved it. It turned out that the BIOS had to be updated and then the BT driver re-installed. All the updates can be found on the support site.
