Aspire 5750G mousepad scroll stopped working

Hi there, this is my first post - I recently got given an Aspire 5750G, and as I was uninstalling some of the old user's programs that I wasnt going to use the mouse pad's vertical and horizontal scrolling stopped working. Obviously I first thought that I accidentally uninstalled something that directly affects the mouse pads scrolling.

I have read through a few other similar queries but have not yet obtained a solution.

I have tried going into the BIOS and changing the trackpad setting, however I did not find such a setting in the BIOS.

I have also checked for updates to the drivers, but Windows says that everything is up to date.

Please help. I really like the vertical scroll bar and it sucks not having it.
