Hello, I have an old Acer Aspire M1640 desktop that I did not use anymore and was thinking of giving it to my little cousin who could use it to play on thE internet or whatever and I found it in a corner collecting dust and after I gave it a good wipe down I turned it on, saved whatever I needed and then system restored it. After the restore it was working surprisingly fast and I downloaded chrome and added the Adblock extension. After around 5 minutes it got BSOD and said it was the Hardware so after a little research I concluded it might be a loose Hardrive cable and I opened it up and there was ALOT of dust and there also were a bunch of wired unplugged with P4, P6, P9 etc. written on them. Can anyone help me and tell me if this is normal and how I could possibly fix the desktop to not get BSOD anymore hopefully ? About the extra wires that you are talking about is from your PSU, This is so that if you wanted to add extra hard Drives or Floppy that connection is there on your Power Supply. (PSU). In some cases there are only wires in the PSU that will supply what is already in the case. Where you pictures are of an Expandable system. So take for instance. If you had a SATA Drive you wanted to add on. The one that shows P9 would supply the power to that drive and then the data cable would go from that drive to one of the Orange Ports on your Motherboard in piacture 3rd one from the bottom next to your other Sata Cables.

    Hope this helps
