Acer Iconia B1 Tablet 8 GB Internal 32 GB External (Micro SD) Android Version 4.1.2.

My Acer Tablet keeps telling me that I have insufficient memory even though I have uninstalled a number of apps. The Android Storage App gives the following information:
INTERNAL STORAGE: Total Space 0.98GB, Apps 744MB, Available 109MB.
INTERNAL SD: Total Space 5.17GB, Apps 66.67MB, Audio 5.26MB, Downloads 16KB, Available 5.1GB.
EXTERNAL SD: Total Space 29.71GB, Available 28.83GB.

When I connect my tablet to my PC, the Windows file manager reports:
External SD 28.8GB of 29.7GB
Internal SD 5.08GB of 5.17GB

Please explain why I keep getting the "insufficient storage space" message and how can I correct this problem?  Do I need to return tablet under warranty?

Thank you fore responding.  I moved a number of apps to the Internal SD card (well some of each app) and that appears to have got rid of the "insufficient storage space message".  I can't recall this potential problem (and fix) being meantioned in the Acer Tablet instruction manual.

I believe that the main issue you are seeing is that the system is wanting to store items in the "main" portion of file space, not the internal or external SD cards.  So you're looking at ~100MB of total space, which may be too low for it to consider it 'viable' space.

INTERNAL STORAGE: Total Space 0.98GB, Apps 744MB, Available 109MB.

I would suggest moving additional apps, etc, from the main space onto the SD storage.

Hi, if you download an app from Google Play called All in one toolbox, you can store apps on the external SD card, it works with JB 4.1, unfortunately it does not work with JB 4.2 but hopefully will soon. The app also allows you to clear the cache and history of all installed browsers with one click and it's free :-)

Thanks for the suggestion - it works a treat and very easy to use.  I don't have to try the potentially dangerous rooting of my tablet now.

See solution above - use All-In-One app to move programs to external SD.

    Hi,

My Iconia B1 tablet has 743MB free internal memory, is there any way I can install a 1GB apps. like (NBA2K14)?

    Thanks

I have the same problem as kencoburn.

The solution given here HAS proved useful : having moved a lot of apps to "Internal SD", I no longer get the message "Insufficient Storage Space". Still, I dread the moment when INTERNAL STORAGE might get saturated again.

Indeed, I can't find any command enabling me to send any app or app-data to my EXTERNAL SD.

I can only commute apps between "INTERNAL STORAGE" and "INTERNAL SD".

Even "All in one toolbox" does not offer me the possibility to send any app or app data to EXTERNAL SD.

    How come ??

I did not find an option to transfer apps to External SD using All in One, just to Internal SD... Smiley Sad

Can you give me the directions to get to that function?
