Contacted acer today it seems I will have to send it to them. I rang cos through on line booking u will have to jump hoops about what u did. We all know we need complete rom to flash to this device but they haven't released it for A3 good luck

I have had the same problem. Currently awaiting a reply from Acer support.

OK I bought mine from Sanisburys so I rang them yesterday it was only 8 mths old and still under warranty and they gave me a new one. And 40 pounds back cos they have gone down in price! Wow I will get all my electronics from there now. Hope you get em fixed guys acer wants u to send em back no other fix

I got one of these for work. Only had it two days. First day was charging (I got it late in the day). Today I encypted the tablet, installed apps, copied files across.

I tried 'Search for Updates' but an error came up. Ho hum, never mind.

Later a window appeared on my Homescreen asking if I wanted to download/install an update for when KitKat is released!?

I said yes as I was not using it. It was busy doing it's thing but later I noticed there was an error during Installation. I selected restart from the Recovery type menu that was showing and I was in Bootloop mode, Great. And could not turn it off!! 

Question - my tablet was encypted were others that bootlooped or is it just bad luck it if happens?  We might be buying quite a few for work, but not if they are going to do this

Called ACER, got a returns/ticket number. UPS collecting it tomorrow so we will see what happens.

Did someone not check out the ACER Install file correctly before releasing it? Creating bootloops is a right pain if ACER have to be paying for everyone to ship back their tablets via courier! Plus the time I am without mine.

Anyway, annoyed it has happened only on my 2nd day of getting the thing, but least Customer Service has been good so far.

Look luck on your tablets. I hope this does not mean the end for KitKat updates on the A3-A10

Mine happened just the same way. My new one updated OK but I did it with stock apps. In fact its done the up date twice weird. Good luck guys looking forward to kit kat coming soon

I took mine to one of the acer service center s i n Valletta, Malta,(Scan computers) as i'm on holoday here, who were no use whatsoever. They told me o would have to leave it with them for a week, as they would have to request the firmware from Acer. Quite why it would take a week to get a 200ish mb file I don't know!!!!!!!

I don't know if any of you want a copy of my ROM? Would it help? You would have to tell me how to do it I can root it with frameroot. That works well .but I'm not android savvy but not a huge tell me what to do and I will copy my ROM if its poss .
