My 6-week old computer has frozen! Could it be that the software has expired?

We've just bought a new computer. It was working perfectly but suddenly stopped. The screen has my Fb profile picture on it but the keyboard or mouse don't do anything. I'm worried that it could be because we have t renewed any software.
Any ideas? Please?

don't worry, do a long press on power button to shut it down; once powered off, turn it on again.

What's your laptop model?
check if on the back of your laptop, there's a little hole with a battery icon, insert a pin inside and gently press, once the screen turns off, take out the pin
