I Have an Aspire Z3171 all in one running Win7 that randomly switches off while using it.

This PC has been running fine since new but for some reason it has started to just switch its self off,no warning,its like the power has gone off,it also does werd things like after a crash powering its self on after 10 minutes of it being off with no light on the power switch.it will run fine for minutes before it crashes,as far as I can tell the fan is working as it shows rpm in the bios health check,the power supply voltages seem ok with the 12 volt a little low at 11.71 volts.have tried system restore but it did finish,tried to scan for virus but shut off before it finished,it will usually restart by its self or if you power it up again,tried to repair its self with no difference.

I have sorted this problem with a new on / off switch, it was operating its self randomly.

Check the AC cable and the PSU.

One thing I can think of. You either have a bad harddrive or your windows is corrupt. I am saying this because 3 weeks ago before I bought my new Acer that I am on now, I was running a emaichines with windows7 and it started doing the same thing. After talking to Tiger Direct techs, that said the same thing. So, I decided it would be cheaper for me to get this new Acer than it would be repairing the old one.
