I see serveral posts related to receiving the message, "No Web Cam Detected" but no successful solutions. I have tried downloading new drivers without success. Has anyone overcome this promblem recenlty. I have an Aspire 5250 with Window 8 OS. It seems that my only option is to send my computer in to ACER but I can't live without it. I am willing to pay for technical assistance but he prices that ACER's affiliate charges are really steep. Hoping for help in Nova Scotia.

After some investigation it appears that my web cam board had a bad connection. FYI it is easy to pop the cover off that surrounds the screen. this will expose the web cam card. By pressing on the web cam card in different places I was able intermittently to get the camera working. You could here the chime each time the computer detected the camera. I will take it to a local shop to get the camera replaced. Any thoughts on replacing the camera myself?
