Hey folks,
A colleague of mine has an aspire 5552 running windows 7. When we try starting it up it runs it's bios fine, however detects an issue, something about a media not responding or something, I shall check the detail there. It displays that screen for a bit, and its power button light, battery light and hdd activity light all flash simultaniously. I've tried a plain old restart, removing the battery and power supply and leaving it for a few minutes. I've searched other posts and haven't spotted anything similar. I'm wondering if it is the hard drive playing up as the computer was asking for a boot device to be inserted.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm going to say that it's probably giving a "No boot device" error message.
This indicates that the hard drive is not being seen or is not bootable.
Can you see the HDD in the BIOS?
Are you able to boot from another piece of media and see if you still have data on the drive?
