XC600 Wireless Card issue

I have a XC600 running Windows 7 32 bit. There is an unknown device under Device Manager "Network Controller", I assume this is the wireless network card as the pc has the double aerial and the normal network card is the only networked device recognised.

I downloaded and ran the following from the Acer site:

Wireless LAN Ralink Wireless LAN Driver 3.00.41

However the network card remained unrecognised. I tried re-installing, a reboot and even updating driver from folder location and pointing it the driver ffolde to no avail.

I'm stumped.

I've pulled the wireless ID from the unknown device to see if this would help recognise it:

PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0034&SUBSYS_662111AD&REV_01
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0034&SUBSYS_662111AD
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0034&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0034&CC_0280

Apart from that I can't think what else to do. Currently the pc does not have any other method of connecting to the router.

Any help would be appreciated.
