My 16yr old dropped his netbook . I had him call Acer to find out about getting a new one, and they told him it would be 200 bucks and he would have to send the computer to them to be fixed.

Anyone have any ideas about a reputable online dealer that I might be able to find one? I am  quite certain I can replace it myself, with help from my old buddy Google!!

Sos, I appreciate your having the good character to admit that the laptop was dropped--a lot of people won't admit that.

You can type your model number into Google and try to find a used one, but you're probably better off having Acer put in a new one.

That would be fine, except I only paid 225 bucks for this netbook brand new. It seems like a real waste of money to have Acer do this work, and much easier to just buy a new netbook.
Anyway, I can easily find the screen at amazon, I was just wondering if anyone knew of a reputable reseller of spare parts that I could contact, or of ones that I should definitely avoid.

Since you dropped the unit there could be something else wrong with it than just the screen being cracked. I'd honestly contact Acer and see what they can do.
