Is the Bluetooth device listed in Device Manager at all?
Have you taken the system back to Windows 8 to see if the Bluetooth device is still working?

I'm in the same boat. My bluetooth hardware isn't even showing up in my device manager list. My hotkey (FN+F3, actually none of my hotkeys no longer work) will not cycle through turning wifi or bluetooth off. When i go to the network panel in windows 8.1 my bluetooth switch is grayed out. It worked fine until I made the change from 8 to 8.1. Aspire V3-571G-6602

I'm going to suggest that you return to Windows 8 and confirm that the hardware is working properly.
