So I've recently purchased an Acer Veriton M4630G. It comes installed with 8GB of RAM. I bought an additional 8GB of Crucial RAM and installed it only to have my new PC BSOD Smiley Sad --- So I contacted Acer support. They suggested I update my BIOS, specifically:

Spoiler

Prathish KumarIsaac: I will provide you with the web link to download latest BIOS update.
Prathish KumarIsaac: Here is the web link to download the latest BIOS update http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/BIOS/BIOS/BIOS_Acer_P11.B0L_A_A.zip?acerid=635252661139131941&Step1=DESKTOP&Step2=VERITON&Step3=VERITONM4630G&OS=ALL&LC=en&BC=ACER&SC=PA_6
Prathish KumarIsaac: Here is the web link with the steps to install the downloaded BIOS update ; http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1090/kw/winplash/session/L3RpbWUvMTM3Nzk1MjYzMS9zaWQvQnNRdUE4emw%3D

The link Prathish shared for installing the BIOS update seem to be the wrong instructions for the M4630G BIOS download. For one - my system is 64Bit W7 --- Secondly - there's neither a WINFALSH_ADVANCED folder, nor an executable file  in my BIOS .zip download. So I need assistance please.

If someone can spell out in the simplest of terms:

  1. Where is my correct BIOS update download? Please link to it.
  2. Will updating my BIOS make it so the new 8GB Crucial RAM modules will integrate without issues or BSOD?
  3. If I must create a DOS bootable USB or some such - instructions on how to go about it will be wonderful!

As for my system - Here are a few specs:

  • Acer Veriton M4630G | i7-4770 CPU @ 3.40GHz
  • BIOS Version/Date currently listed as Acer P21-A2, 8/7/2013
  • 64-Bit Windows 7

Virtual ((hugs)) for your assistance! Smiley Wink

The instruction to update the BIOS is inside the .zip file you downloaded, the other link is only for notebook bios update.

To create a DOS USB pen:
