Hi All,
I have a weird problem where I boot up Steam for the first time, I can't type any letters in the login or the password box. The keyboard works fine for everything else and the laptop is brand new. Can someone please help? Thanks
Jeff

Jeff, there are a lot of things wrong with Steam. You can try opening a new account.

Thanks for reply, unfortunately it's the same story when I click on create new account. None of the fields work for typing.

You can try using alt-tab to make sure the Steam login box is selected.
Is there a flashing cursor in either the username or password box?
To identify if it's a keyboard issue, can you type your credentials into Notepad (for example) and then copy/paste them into the boxes using the mouse?
It's more likely to be a Steam issue than an Acer issue, though. You can also request assistance on the Steam forums.

Mokes, SOMETIMES you can solve the problem by installing a different browser and using it to go onto Steam. Again, Steam has a LOT of defects on their system, and I don't think that it's a problem with your machine.
