Acer Aspire 5750 Internet random disconnections

For a couple of months now my internet has been randomly shutting itself off and I am unable to reconnect. The only way I have found to reconnect is by closing the lid ( sending the pc to sleep ) or by holding the power button if closing the lid doesn't work, I have downloaded the wireless lan atheros file to see if that worked and it did but only for a couple of days and I'm not sure what else i can do. I have also unchecked the box to were it can shut down the drive for power saving

We need to know the following:

What operating system is on the computer?
What version of the Atheros driver is currently installed on the system?
Did this being occuring after any specific event or update?
Have you attempted to recover the system?
