what are shortcut keys to switch keyboard back from french to english?

I accidentally switched my keyboard to french characters and I don't know how to switch it back using keyboard shortcuts. Anyone help? If I do it again I want to be able to fix it. So bizarre! I got the question mark here, but I get a capital E with accent aigu in word! What is happening?
