webcam issues on aspire E1-571G

Hello. I've just purchased an acer aspire e1-571 g, and i am running windows 7 on it. i have issues with the webcam, in the sense that i can`t find it. i tried installing the driver, but it tells me that it can't find any webcam devices, but it has a webcam because i can see it. in the windows device manager there is no imaging devices tab anywhere. the notebook is under warranty, but i don't want to get it looked at just yer, for fear they might disassemble the display to check if the webcam is connected to whatever it should be. so if you could give me a solution, that doesn't imply taking apart the display, i would greatly appreciate it. hope to hearing from you soon. thank you.
