my touch pad is hopeless one minute its ok then the curser dissapers, sometimes it wont scroll down, and when you move the curser across the screen it opens another page. when i use a mouse my laptop is ok, and i use the touch screen sometimes but i think they are better used on i pads etc. i think this is a poor design by acer, i had no problems with my old 5720 travelmate.

It sounds like you may need to adjust the options available for your touchpad, as well as the sensitivity.
Go into Control Panel, under Mouse, and check the ELAN or Synaptics tab. There should be an Options button.
That will get you to the Advanced Options for the touchpad.
Adjust the options and items there.
