During a full restore to factory defaults using purchased CDs I get the folling error halfway through the second recovery disk... restore failed - error code=0x17(data error (cyclic redundancy check).) What to do ?
You could try formatting and partitioning your hard drive to see if that changes how the recovery disks perform. Do the disks appear to have any scratches? You could try contacting support to order a new set of recovery disks. If that does not resolve your issue, you could have a hardware problem that would require service.
