hi,

  i recently purchased an aspire e1-571 laptop, it was working fine until it suddenly crashed and then on reboot, it showed a message 'no bootable devices', my laptop didnt come with a start up disk, what could this be? and how do i go about resolving the problem? thanks for your time ....

So were you trying to reinstall your OS or just reboot?  If you are trying to reinstall it press Alt+F10 when the Acer screen appears.  That will take you into the menu so you can restore your laptop using eRecovery.
