My laptop is out of warranty. Any advice on if I should try to get it fixed or just buy another laptop? Will I be able to trade in my laptop to Acer for another laptop?

Hello,
No Acer does not do trade-ins of laptops. I would suggest in your case to check with a local tech/reseller to see what would be charged for a Mainboard repair/installation and if the Mainboard is still available for that unit. A Mainboard is a rather expensive part of a computer though.
Repair prices vary according to resellers and Acer does offer paid out of warranty repair services for a standaard fee provided parts are still available for your out of warranty unit.
Guess looking at buying a new computer would be a good option too. For that you can look at the acer store site and on that site there is a telephone number listed in case you need assistance
