I've tried the model specific driver from the acer website as well as the generic driver from the synaptics website. i've even tried a couple hacked drivers. nothing works. there's supposed to be multi touch options in mouse settings in the control panel but there's only options to control what right and left click do. any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm running windows 7 btw.

I assume you did not reload the system with the Acer Recovery tools, and went with a retail copy of Windows.
If so, that's ok, but I believe you'd need access to Acer Recovery to install the applications and drivers missing.
