Re: error message on startup

There is a program that is starting when you start your computer that I'm guessing isn't there anymore. I have no idea what program would use a file named nirrit.dat it the Program Files (x86) folder but have you deleted anything recently or uninstalled any programs?

Probably the easiest way to fix this is by going to download.com and grab a program called Glary Utilitys  It's a free program. Just download it, open gu3setup.exe, yes, I Agree, Install, Finish, and the program should start. There might be an advertisement for the pro version just click no thanks. On the 3rd tab click advanced tools and then click start-up items. Un-check everything you don't need to start when you computer starts, basically everything but your antivirus, and close the program. restart your computer and you shouldn't have the issue any more.

Re: error message on startup

that in fact cured the error message problem. the little bit of tinkering i have done with the program already seems to have the machine running faster. Thanks for your help! Any other suggested utilities or programs to improve performance?
