after a clean install of windows 7 ultimate on my aspire 5738z the crystal eye webcam will not work. ive tried all the applications listed under the drivers and downloads on the acer site and still nothing. i did a quick search on google and found that others have had the same issue but found no real solution

Is the webcam listed uder imaging device in device manager?

No...checked that. It was working 2 days ago when vista was still installed so I don't see how the hardware could have failed suddenly. It does say that there is a USB camera installed even though there isn't

It could not be a hardware problem. Definetly its a driver issue. Crystal eyewebam sofware is preloaded with computer. Sinec USB camera is listed, I sggest you to use any chat applications like Skype or Gtalk to check if webcam is getting detected

i first noticed the issue when i tried skype, it just says no camera detected. I've tried the applications on the acer drivers site to no avail and really am not sure what to do at this point. Is there another place to get the drivers for the webcam?
