After I on the laptop, it show a sign "please wait". This goes on for almost 20 minutes before the screen comes on. I have never encounter this problem with all the laptop I've been using.

It is very embarrassing to me while the audience wait for my computer to start-up, which I have no idea when it can actually start-up. May I know if Acer know of this problem?

Windows is likely repeatedly trying to configure a new update and failing. You have windows 8 do you not? Why not try doing a reset to reinstall windows and see if that solves the issue.
