Just brought the Acer m5 581t 6479 and noted it takes long time to boot and shutdown. I expect the SSD will help speed up the boot and shutdown process, but it is not the case. Do I need to configure the system to utilize the SSD to help the boot up process? Thanks

you may want to try Tuneup Utilities. just get the trial it works nicley it will fix registry issues which can and will make youre computer startup and shutdown slower, it will help you disable unneded programs from starting with windows so they dont bog down youre system.

if you know youre way around youre pc then another way is just to disable programs that start when windows starts. when you buy a comuputer the company installs lots of pretty useless junk on them. many of which run at startup.

    cheers

Thank you for the information. After some research, I think I am looking for how to enable Intel Rapid Start technology on this ultrabook. The currently setting of the SATA mode is AHCI. Does anybody has any idea?
