Wifi but no internet connection

Hi

I have an Acer Aspire 3680 with Windows XP.

I have not been on the internet with it recently but now have Shaw internet and Wifi and so I am trying to connect it.

I can get the Wifi to connect. Wifi signal is strong, but when I try to go onto the internet I'm told that I am not connected.

When I look at my Network Connection and Internet Connection Status it says Status: Connected

Internet Explorer Cannot display the web page

Diagnose Connection Problem

Windows is not currently managing your wireless network.

What do I do?

Specifically what version of Windows XP is running on the system, please?

The Aspire 3680 shipped with several versions.

We will need some additional information about how your connectivity is set up.

Are you connecting to a wireless router?

Are you attempting to connect directly to a modem?

Are you able to get any other system on the internet?
