Why Does Acer Cut Maximum RAM Support?

[ Editado ]

Hello, my name is [edited for privacy]. Long time Acer fan & loyal customer, second time complainer. As per an e-mail support chat I had with Intel I've came to learn that the motherboard that comes with the Acer Aspire Ethos 8951G-9630 is the 2nd Generation Sandy Bridge Intel i7-2670QM and as per this document, http://ark.intel.com/products/53469 it supports 32 GB of RAM. A few more messages in with Intel Tech Support I was notified that manufacturers sometimes limit the ACTUAL amount of supported RAM. That being said, the actual amount of supported RAM is 32 GB but, Acer limited it to 16 GB. So my question is simple, why use a motherboard that is capable of more abilities just to limiti its full potential & make it inferior? Thank you for any help.

P.S. I know CPU speed is also very vital in handling processes but, why tinker with the RAM functionality?
