Seriously, I have seen that symbol before in other posts. It must be some sort of default used when the photo/document attachment procedure doesn't work. Possibly non-recognized file extension?

Looks like you dinged your screen. There is a chance (however small) that Acer would cover this under warranty. But honestly from the picture you've attached it's likely not going to be covered. Acer's standard warranty covers all manufacturers defects. That means things like a dead hard drive, graphics adapter, sound card, mainboard etc... The only way Acer won't repair your unit is if there is customer induced damage. This includes things like broken screens, liquid spills, keys that have fallen off... Things of that nature. They can still repair it for you if you like, and I would contact them to see what they say, but if they decide it's a physical damage to the unit you'll have to pay for them to fix it. Always worth a phone call though.
