Touchscreen t232hl problem on Linux

I'd like to use the multitouch monitor t232hl with Linux. I believe the hid-multitouch driver supports this device. I'm running raspberry pi under Raspbian 3.6.11, but the device does not work under Xbmc. And the device further does not work under openElec on RPi nor under Raspbmc or xbian. Can you tell me what I need to do to make the touchscreen work under Xbmc when I'm not running x windows?

Unfortunately, I do not have any suggestions for connecting this monitor to a Linux system. Maybe other users on the forum can provide some suggestions.

I just got a S231HLbid (not touchscreen) and using it with Rpi. Except no software to switch input so have to use buttons.
