After installing Microsoft update KB2901549 on Oct 27 my S7-392-9890 had been experiencing high CPU usage for several seconds after login to a local admin account on Windows 8.1 Pro. This may not be much time in general but was highly annoying as I had previously enjoyed the ability to start working immediately after login. I can say everything is back to normal after uninstalling KB2901549.

That particular KB is
"Update improves the reliability of Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 R2"
I'm sorry that you're seeing increased CPU usage after applying that particular update.
The best I can suggest, at the moment, is to not install the update until Microsoft is able to address your issue with the update.
I will continue to invetigate from our side.
