To get the drivers you are looking for, go to this link http://download.cnet.com/1770-20_4-0.html?query=ac
You will see Acer Crystal eye webcam drivers. Hope it is what you are looking for. Webcam drivers are not available on the Acer website but other drivers are there and you can check on the link below.
http://www.acer.com.au/ac/en/AU/content/drivers
When there, there are three options.
1. Search by serial number
2. Search by product model
3. Select your product from list
Its easier to go with the 3rd option. Here is how to do it:
Group: select Ultathin
Series: select Aspire
Product: select Aspire S7-391

Thanks for your message Alex-B. However, I tried what you suggested. I don't think the Cnet file is any good. There is no driver listed in acer's support page - this is weird. I used some 3rd party driver updaters and updated all the drivers in ultrabook. The webcam worked for a minute then didn't later. I wonder if it is just a loose connection inside... I don't want to send the machine to the acer service as I had two horrible experience with them in the past.

The drivers for webcam is default with windows driver database. There is no separate drivers needed for windows 8. Windows 8 has default cam application which can be used for various purpose of the webcam. Have you checked in device manager under imaging device if webcam is listed.
Let me know the detail error message you get while accessing the webcam and how you access the webcam

Dear suniljp,
thanks for your message.
When I check the device manager i can't see any section titled as imaging device, but "Other devices - Unknown device" with "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)" message in status box. I try Acer Crystal Eye to access the webcam and the message is "No webcam deviec detected..." Camera app doesn't detect it either. Neither does skype.

Is it windows 8, if so pry refresh steps are on the below link. After recovery if you experience the same issue with webcam u need to contact tecnical support. It might be the issue with webcam.
