Hey eyeryone -
I have an older Aspire 5570Z and just got a recovery image in the mail. Thing is, I've always had problems with this machine and I had to replace the HDD a few years ago. I'm trying to re-image the drive with the Acer recovery media (includes Vista Home Premium), but after the partition restore is completed, it can't boot into Windows.
I also have an Ubuntu partition.
Wondering if the recovery media is attempting to locate the recovery partition (which no longer exists). Anyone know a way around this?
Thanks!

Recovery media does not attempt to locate the recovery partition. Either one would restore the system.
Having the Ubuntu partition on the system, especially if you're using a Linux boot loader may cause issues.
I would suggest removing all partitions and then using the recovery media to restore to the original factory load. Then do whatever you need with other partitions.
Please note that we do not support Ubuntu or multi-OS booting, so I'll be unable to provide further assistance with that.
