Signal on this one is excellent 3-4 bars, and still it can not transfer!
It only works when the laptop is right next to the router.
Acer support center just reply: ask your dealer. But it was bought on internet. So if one can´t ask them online, they are probably waiting for some nerd to come up with the answer.

Same problem here... I had installed Windows 8.1 Preview before and I noticed the connection was lost much less. But still the WLAN wasn't as fast as it should be.
I now have an external WLAN USB-Stick and it works as it should.
I have an Aspire R7 571G-53338G75ass.

Save yourself time and headache and pick up a small USB wireless NIC until an update driver is posted. This one is $10 from Amazon.

OR . . . return the device for a refund. I purchased 2 Aspire R7s and after enduring what feels like a bait-and-switch due to the fact the machines did NOT function as advertised or promised, I returned both of them and received a full refund. I didn't pay for a paperweight, I paid for a functional computing device that turned out not to be as advertised.
I will be using my refunds to purchase reliablely functional devices from a company that genuinely cares about customer service. I will warn all my friends and colleagues against purchasing anything from Acer!!

You can lookup other computers that have the same low signal interference problem. Just google "wifi interference" and see, it is normal.
Bought this R7 with i7 + GT 750M and 256 SSD and it is super fast, quiet and have a crystalclear picture. And the flipable screen gives you lots of options for use.
Even with bad wifi it is the best travelling notebook for 1080p screen. Windows xP index is 7.1 in this!!
Acer support sucks though, cause there´s no win 7 drivers. And auto-rotate screen neither works in this.

Maybe the casing is blocking signal??

Haha yes it's like the iPhone 4 death grip!
No, the R7 is a very well product and I give Acer that chance... but they should simply give a statement about what's the problem and what's the solution and when we can expect it ![]()

Have you tried updating the wifi driver in your computer? You might want to do that. Or you can scan your computer with RadarSync to know if any driver needs updating.

This is a common issue that most acer users have been having. I suggest that you update the drivers in your computer including the wi fi driver. If you don't want to waste your time looking for the drivers in the website of Acer then I suggest that you install RadarSync and scan your computer with it. It will tell you which drivers need updating. You can either manually install the drivers by locating them in Acer or the website of the hardware part manufacturer or by using the software itself.

You mean Radarsync, whose support engineer is David Greene? Oh, that's you? What a coincidence.
There is no newer driver than the one that is installed.
