Hello,

My screen recently went black on my notebook and can only see anything if I take a very bright flashlight and shine against it.

I am going to replace the screen but am uncertain which one to buy as there seems to be many types of "Acer Aspire 5742-XXXX" versions.

Can you provide me with the part number i should purchase? As well can you identify what my model no is? Ie Aspire 5742-"XXXX"  Below is my system info.

Yes, there are a lot of sub-models for this particular series.

Without the specific serial number or SNID, I am unable to tell you specifically which panels would work on your system.

There were several different types of LCD panel that were included in this series.  It varied by the sub-model.

Even if all you can get is the 5742-xxxx of your system, that would help.
