Ok so I have a Acer Aspire V3-771. My problem is the Alps pointing device is inoperatable, in my device manage the alps poing pad device is not present. I have tried to reinstall the drivers for it, and no success to making it work again. I haven't had the lap top very long. When I tried installing the drivers maybe I did it wrong even though it's a plug and play system. If somebody has a solution to my problem and can aid me in making it work again it would be much apprecieated. Thank you...

Check for the proper function key to turn on the touch pad

Hi
Yes, try the Function Key first to enable/disable touchpad (Fn Key + F7)
If this doesn't work try to recover the system back to Factory settings using the Acer eRecovery tool from within Windows. This will load all the original drivers.
***Back up any files that you need to keep!***
If neither of the above works, it could be a hardware problem (faulty trackpad or the ribbon cable which connects it to the mainboard may have come loose).
