So I am having a problem with my aspire v3. I took it on a trip and realized I forgot my charger. I bought a 3rd party one (innergie mcube) and when I plug it in the laptop says it's charging. When I hit the power button, the laptop turns on for about a second and then shuts off. This charger comes with several different tips that I guess correlate to different laptops but I've tried the ones that fit into mine and the results are the same. Any clues as to what's going on? Also I know that my battery is completely dead so I'm hoping it's just the charger and not a batter short or failure.

    Hi Kmsmith

I'd presume the 3rd party charger you bought may be faulty, or possibly has the incorrect voltage needed for your laptop.

There is also a small chance that the battery is at fault, but TBH, I think the blame lies with the charger.
