Laptop changes keyboards by itself after I copy and paste (control + v) data several times.

Hello. My laptop occasionally changes keyboards so that symbols such as `` come up instead of ' , etc. I am very familiar with key combinations to changes languages and I use several languages on my keyboard and can switch between them when I want to without any issues.

This problem, however, seems to occur by itself after I work on a Word document for a while and does not only happen when I press Alt + Shift or Control + Shift.

So I made an experiment. I figured that one of my most frequent activities when typing is that I copy and paste data from the internet or from other word documents. So perhaps the keyboard switching has something to do with the letter combinations Ctrl + V.

Indeed, after I copied and pasted a quotation about 15 times in to a word document (simply repeating Ctrl + V), suddenly the keyboard switched to French. I did it again a few times and it switched to another French/accent keyboard. I did it a few more times and it switched back to English. Does anyone know how I can stop this specific problem from recurring? I would appreciate any advice very much.

check under Region & Language in Control Panel

Keyboard and Languages

Change keyboards

Advanced Key settings

look at key sequence to see if that is what changes languages

can also change it there

Hello HK53T. I checked in Control Panel but the only letter combinations assigned to switch between languages and keyboard layout are Alt + Shift and Ctrl + Shift. There is no reason why Ctrl + V should cause any change. It seems to just happen randomly, every 20-30 minutes while I'm working. Thank you anyways.

I also use Alt + Tab very often to switch between documents and/or other applications. Would you happen to know of any program I can use to track my keyboard movements for about half-an-hour? That might help me figure out exactly what happens. Perhaps when I press Ctrl + V to paste something and then quickly press shift to capitalize a letter it still activates the Ctrl + Shift function? Any other ideas you have would be much appreciated.
