I have read the lonnnnnnng threads about the poor WIFI and other issues with the R7. No surprise that there are a ton of them that have been returned and need to be sold. Such a shame for the people who bought them in the first place.
Would be good to know if you buy one of these if they really work.

Hey they promised that the first Aspire R7 was like the Starship Enterprise, so it´s no wonder communication was down. And it wasn´t a bad deal. Besides the new design you got a challenge in WiFi know-how.
The next Aspire R7 is numbered R7-572. Your reference was to product number: R7-571-XXXX
Here´s a link to the new model: http://www.amazon.de/Acer-Aspire-R7-572G-74508G25A
As you can see this product is R7-572G-XXXXXX and if you look under Acer support driver downloads, it has its own page. And its new WiFi is called: Acer InviLink(TM) 802.11 a/g/n, Wi-Fi CERTIFIED(TM); unterstützt Acer SignalUpWireless Technologie, Bluetooth® 4.0+HS
So it sounds like they stuffed it with some completely new WiFi tech. But you can´t be sure it doesn´t include an adventure also. You know with the Star Trek serie there´s always a new problem in the next episode.
