Hi,
I have a new W700 Iconia Tablet with Windows 8.
I tried already the auto-rotation lock switch several times. Nor appear the highlighted message that it is "auto rotate active" or "deactivated", nor rotate itself.
The switch is not responding.
It just works when I rotate it manually with the Acer Control Panel. After rotating, if I touch the switch, then it rotates back to the main horizontal primary position.
Do I need to configure something?
Thanks,

If you just got your W700, I suppose there are not many new apps/data, right?
Try factory resetting the device. Here's how http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmeM0-nKOiY
If you don't have a keyboard, follow these steps:
1. Insert the System DVD into the DVD drive
2. Open Charms (swiping in from the right edge of the screen) > Settings > Change PC settings > General > Advanced Startup > Restart Now > Turn off your PC, then wait until the W700 turned off
3. Hold down the Windows button, then press power button with the Windows button still pressed
4. You will see the BIOS
5. Tap Boot on the left, then press the up button beside "USB CDROM" until it ended on top of the list
6. Tap Exit on the left, and tap Exit Saving Changes
7. If succeed, you will see longer than usual Acer boot screen, followed by the guided recovery
