I have a user who has a Travelmate 5720. Need to reinstall XP without original CD's.

I have a user who has a Travelmate 5720. The hard drive crashed and they don't have any recovery CD's.

I found the hard drive drivers on the website but it's a install program instead of the drivers. Is there a way to get the hard drive drivers so I can install XP as XP doesn't automatically recognize SATA.

Well i do not belive that Acer will be able to send the Recovery disk you need. they generally stop carrying them after some time and XP is way to old. The best thing to do is find a retail copy of XP and run that and install the drivers.

Correct, they do not carry the recovery CD's for this model anymore.

However, I'm looking for the drivers. The ones on Acer's website are a executable that you install after you install XP. I need the actual drivers to load during the install.
