I want to store my aps on the sd card on my windows 8 Acer Iconis w3 tablet. How do I configure windows 8 to do this?

Not an easy task. Windows 8 stores those apps in a fixed location (C:\Program Files\WindowsApps) and each app also stores the location in their registry settings. If you just move them you will also have to change a LOT of registry entries... I'm guessing it's possible to change that default location, edit each of the standard apps, then install all new apps in the new location, but there would be an awful lot of things that could go wrong in the process.

Only way I have found is to creata ProgramFiles directory on the SD card, uninstall the programs, and when reinstalling make the default directory d:\ProgramFiles.
Can also save about 1.5 GB but turning off hibernation and 2GB by moving the Pagefile.sys to the d: drive (have to change in computer settings.

You may be able to kind of accomplish what you want with symbolic links or junctions.

For example, if your SD card is mounted on D:, you may be able to move your entire 'C:\Program Files' directory to
'D:\Program Files' and make a symbolic link from 'C:\Program Files' to 'D:\Program Files'.
It may not be too useful to make a direct link from C:\Program Files though, as all of your apps will be on D: and all new apps will install there...you'll have effectively moved all of your programs to the SD card but you won't be using any of the space on C:, so I don't know if that's a win for you or not. Alternatively, if it's just a space issue, you may be able to symlink off specific applications to your SD card.
Caveat - I have not personally done this with applications on Windows 8 but nothing seems to preclude it from working.
