     I have the same problem with using the Acer Windows 7 Upgrade Kit, Acer sent me as part of my original purchase, when trying to upgrade my Aspire 4810T, from Vista to W7. 

      I called Acer, they know this is a common bug in the Upgrade Kit they sent out, but they will not tell me what the fix is, since my computer is out of warranty.  Horrible support from Acer, my next PC will be from a reputable company that doesn't send out Upgrade Kits that disable my computer, and then won't even correct their mistake - UNBELIEVABLY BAD SUPPORT FROM ACER.
