Recently bought a touch screen Acer with windows 8 on it, the touch screen worked for the first two months, but now it has vanished! No touch screen controls, or any touch&pen settings. I have tried everything from restarting/rebooting/refreshing to even factory restore? I assume some how the touch driver got deleted?

Hmmm I'm having similar problems, I re-installed my operating system and I need the touchscreen drivers. But when I ask Acer for the drivers, as it's not available on the website, this is the response I got.
I kindly request you to purchase the recovery media and install it in your computer to fix the issue.
I would like to inform you that, recovery media is not shipped with the unit. However, the unit comes with a hidden partition that enables you to burn your own set of recovery/installation media. If you have not created your own set of recovery media, you can purchase them from us. Using this, you can reload the operating system on your unit.
• The recovery media will cost you £51.06. If you are interested to purchase the recovery CDs, we would log a case for the recovery CDs and you will receive a recovery CD request form shortly from us
I didn't create it, so I'm kind of stuck as I'm not willing to pay £50 for the CD, might just send the laptop back, it's only 5 days old.
