I got both acer aspire 5349 and 7551 who both have windows 7 64 bit installed but the HDD from aspire 7551 failed so I was wondering if I could just take the HDD from the 5349 and put it in the 7551 without having to re-instal windows or do I have to buy another windows installation CD ?

you don't need to reinstall it... but you are going to update or reinstall the other driver....which are missing...
