Hey guys,

I've had some overheating problems and have gone on to clean out the fan and re-applied some fresh thermal paste, but the CPU still goes up to 85 degrees withing 5 minutes of playing a game.

I figure there must be something wrong with the fan settings as the fan doesn't seem to go over 1000 RPM despite the workload and the temperature going above 85+ degrees. Then sometimes it randomly jumps to 1500 for a couple seconds and goes down again.

So my question is, is there some kind of software I can use to manually set the RPM of the CPU fan to somewhere around 1500 when I'm playing games, in order to keep the temperature down?

My laptop is Acer Aspire 5745G.
